"Outside are the dogs and sorcerers and fornicators and murderers and idolaters, and every one who loves and practices falsehood"
I remembered this bible verse yesterday because there was a guy who tried to scam us. He pretended to be a delivery driver and said that we have a package. The name and address was correct (it was under my mom's name) but we didn't accept it coz we didn't order anything for cash on delivery. All the products we ordered since a few months ago were all paid online. Actually, this was the reason we did that. A few months ago, there were several packages that my mom didn't order but she paid for coz she thought they were the packages that she was waiting for. The last straw was when we paid for 1000 pesos 2 packages but when we opened it, it was full of wet tissues that's probably only worth 200 pesos. That's when I decided to not let my mom order anything online again. From then on I told my mom that I will be the one who will order what she wants at lazada and we will pay for it already online so that when it arrives the courier will just have to give it to us. We've been doing that for months now, and it is only yesterday that someone tried to scam us again. They got my mother's name and address right, which means they have a connection with someone who's working at a courier service and got names and addresses there. I searched online about this months ago and found out that there were lots of people in various places who had the same experience as we had, where they got wet tissues. It is a modus of maybe a syndicate organization.
They are not going to get anything from us anymore, since we don't do cash on delivery. I made sure that we paid for our packages online and lazada and shopee has good tracking services so I know when I will receive my orders.
Anyway, I remembered that line in the bible because that person yesterday is practicing falsehood. He knows what he is doing and he is not sorry for it. That's why when I prayed the rosary yesterday, I included him and anyone like him in my prayers, because if they continued doing that thing until they die, they most probably will not go to heaven.
I love what Emma Tiglao said in Miss Grand International:
"One day, I hope that we will live in a peaceful world where no one should deceive just to survive."
That's what I hope too. I pray that those kinds of people will realize that Jesus is real, their actions have consequences and repent of what they are doing. There are lots of people who are not rich in terms of money but never chose to deceive people to get some, they chose to have a job, even if it's lowly and work for money honestly.
